About Texas Trailblazers™

Texas Trailblazers team at sunset

Texas Trailblazers™ was founded on a passion for the game and a commitment to developing athletes the right way. What began as a 10U team rooted in Dripping Springs has grown into a competitive program focused on high-level coaching, intentional training, and a strong team culture grounded in faith, character, and purpose.

At the helm is Coach James Kuykendall, whose leadership and vision set the standard for everything we do. We combine strong fundamentals with modern coaching techniques to help every athlete improve her skills, build confidence, and compete at a higher level while learning lessons that extend far beyond the game.

Our Team Vision

To build athletes who train with purpose, compete with discipline, and hold themselves to a higher standard.

Our Core Values

Development First

We focus on fundamentals, skill progression, and long-term growth over short-term results.

Compete with Purpose

Every rep, practice, and game is intentional. We show up ready to work and play at a high level.

Accountability Matters

Effort, attitude, and coachability are expected. We hold ourselves to a higher standard.

Confidence is Built

Through preparation, repetition, and support, our athletes develop confidence that shows in their performance.

Team Over Self

We compete together, support each other, and represent something bigger than ourselves.

The Honest Answers.

Texas Trailblazers

What do you expect from me as a parent?

Support the culture, positively cheer, trust the process, and reinforce our values at home. Parents who undermine coaching create division; parents who partner with us create champions.

How much does this cost?

Team enrollment fees are competitive with other select programs. We proactively pursue sponsorships and fundraising opportunities to help support additional team expenses. Full transparency on all fees before any commitment.

How are positions decided?

By performance, attitude, coachability, and effort. Positions are earned and can change throughout the season. We do not guarantee playing time, we guarantee opportunity.

How do you handle school schedules?

Academics come first at Texas Trailblazers™. We work around school obligations and expect athletes to maintain satisfactory academic standing to participate in events.

What does the season look like?

We compete in competitive tournaments locally and regionally, traveling up to two hours max. Practice frequency is typically two days a week. A full schedule is provided at the start of each season.

How can she handle a conflict?

Athlete-first communication. We train our athletes to advocate for themselves respectfully. If an athlete has a concern, she comes to coaches directly first. Parents follow up after that process.

"Texas Trailblazers™ is the standard others are measured against. We are not competing for mediocrity, we are building champions."
